About the Course
Mountains to Mangroves
How does what happens on land affect life in the ocean? From mountaintops to mangroves (or, known to scientists as Ridges to Reefs), everything is connected! In this class, students will investigate the powerful connection between land and sea - how island landscapes, rain, and watersheds impact beaches, seagrass beds, and coral reefs. We will learn how caring for land ecosystems helps protect Puerto Rico’s coastal waters and marine life.
