What the Science Found: Climate Risk Across 25 Caribbean Species
Join Isla Mar for a virtual seminar presenting the results of the Caribbean Climate Vulnerability Assessment (CVA), a structured scientific evaluation of 25 fish and invertebrate species important to US Caribbean fisheries. Drawing on decades of biological research and regional climate projections, the assessment scores each species on its exposure to changing ocean conditions and its biological capacity to adapt. The end result is a ranked vulnerability profile for each one.
This seminar is open to scientists, fishery managers, NGO representatives, and other stakeholders interested in Caribbean fisheries and climate adaptation. Dr. Chelsea Harms-Tuohy, the project lead, will walk through the full results, including species rankings and projected directional effects. We will reserve time at the end for questions and comments, and we will consider participant feedback as the assessment moves toward its final report. No prior familiarity with the…
