Job Title: Marketing Specialist
Location: Remote/Hybrid, but located on the west-coast Puerto Rico
Type: Part time, Contractual
Reports To: Executive Director
Compensation: $18/hr (Approx. $1,080/month, $12,960/year)
Closing Date: Open until filled, but aiming to hire before middle of March 2025
We are seeking a passionate and creative Marketing Specialist to join our team and help us expand our reach, engage our community, and promote the life-changing classes and activities we offer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a tangible difference while utilizing their marketing skills to help build awareness and drive engagement.
Position Overview:
The Marketing Specialist will play a key role in expanding our nonprofit’s visibility through both online and offline channels. This role will support a variety of marketing tasks, including content creation, social media strategy, outreach efforts via in-person engagement with stakeholders, and market research. You will also be responsible for leveraging technology and online systems (such as Wix and social media channels) to automate and enhance our outreach efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Social Media Management:
Develop engaging blog posts, articles, and social media content to raise awareness of our mission, programs, and events.
Use analytics to ensure consistent messaging and audience engagement.
Community Outreach & Engagement:
Assist with distributing flyers and marketing materials to local schools, community centers, and partner organizations.
Build and maintain relationships with local schools, educators, and other community organizations to promote our programs and classes.
Build out a contact list for people who would benefit or be engaged with our programs, especially per age group
Market Research & Audience Analysis:
Conduct market research to better understand our target audience and identify key outreach strategies.
Provide insights into audience preferences and help tailor marketing campaigns to increase program participation and community involvement.
Event Promotion:
Collaborate with team members to promote classes, workshops, and other activities through online platforms and local outreach.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective event marketing strategies and messaging, specifically as it relates to fundraising.
Technology & Automation:
Assist in optimizing and managing our website to enhance user experience and improve program promotion.
Explore opportunities for using online tools and systems to automate communication, streamline outreach, and track engagement metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Bilingual in Spanish and English
1-2 years of experience in marketing or targeted nonprofit outreach.
Strong writing and content creation skills.
Proficiency with social media platforms, Google Analytics, and other related programs.
Experience with email marketing tools and basic automation is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with community stakeholders.
Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a dynamic and flexibile environment that involves remote and in-person meetings
